Concert Tour with the Royal Marines Bands Service - September 2023
The award-winning, world record-breaking Music Man Project has been invited to join His Majesty’s Band of the Royal Marines for their 2023 UK tour, part of our unique collaboration to connect elite military musicians and people with learning disabilities through the universal language of music.
The invitation follows our acclaimed performance with the Royal Marines in the Mountbatten Festival of Music at the Royal Albert Hall, where our students received a standing ovation from 15,000 people across three performances – including His Majesty, The King.
The tour includes concerts in Nottingham, Cardiff, Manchester, Leiceister, Gateshead and Liverpool, and will feature 14 of our renowned Global Ambassadors performing our theme song “Music is Magic”. The song was recorded by the Royal Marines and The Music Man Project in 2022, reaching the top 10 of the iTunes download chart at Christmas.
The concerts will play to sell-out audiences at every venue, totalling over 15,000 people. It will attract extensive media coverage and support from Government Ministers, and follows The Music Man Project’s recent appearance at the National Lottery’s ‘Big Night of Musicals’ with The Music Man Project patron, Michael Ball.
“We couldn’t be prouder of this unique collaboration with The Music Man Project. Each performer radiates warmth, energy, and positivity and our partnership is changing the lives of those in the Royal Marines Band Service“.
[Lieutenant Colonel Jason Burcham Commanding Officer Royal Marines Band Service/Principal Director of Music Royal Marines]
