The Music Man Project Suffolk

Known locally as "Bang & Crash", Lowestoft & District Mencap have been running sessions in Suffolk since 2014 when General Manager Jac thought it would be a great idea for her members to express themselves through music. Louie Lou quickly came on board and together they have had so much fun with their small group. They originally started out by formulating simple drum patterns to popular songs using other percussion instruments too. Very quickly they were told about The Music Man Project and joined up as soon as they met David. They were part of a London Palladium performance and the first Royal Albert Hall performance. This was such a huge event for the members because many of them had not only never been out of Lowestoft, but they had also never seen a performance on a theatre stage, let alone performed on one. MMP has helped build up self esteem, self confidence and a love of performing and now we perform locally while fundraising and are getting a good reputation as part of the local music scene. Recently they have been joined by Mike who helps with the musicality and individual support.
